DUBAI: India’s comedy sensation Harsh Gujral is all set to return to Dubai for one final night of laughter with his hit solo show Jo Bolta Hai Wahi Hota Hai.
The much-anticipated event takes place at Dubai Heights Academy on Friday, 13 June 2025, with two shows scheduled at 6:30pm and 9:30pm.
Known for his relatable storytelling and spontaneous humour, Gujral will be performing new trial jokes along with a 30-minute segment of live crowd work, a format he’s celebrated for.
The show will be delivered in Hindi and is being organised by Sublime Entertainment and Enara Events. Tickets are now available, starting from $56.68 (approx. Dh208).
Who is Harsh Gujral?
Harsh Gujral’s journey to comedy wasn’t a conventional one. Before stepping into the spotlight, Gujral had built a career in the corporate world, holding technical roles in companies like HCL, IBM, and TCS. After graduating as an engineer, he began his career in 2012 as a database engineer at RateGain in Noida, earning a monthly salary of just Rs 13,000.
His early comedic ventures included open mic appearances and late-night gigs, but it was a year-long stint in London performing at shows that gave his talent international exposure. On returning to India, Gujral discovered a love for crowd work comedy, after hosting a corporate fest and receiving a rousing response from his peers.
Determined to follow his passion, he took the leap and left the corporate sector. Performing at the Canvas Laugh Club, one of India's most reputed comedy venues, Gujral made his presence felt with a fresh brand of humour and razor-sharp wit.
In 2019, Gujral posted his first video on YouTube on 5 July, which quickly went viral. Today, his channel has over 1 million subscribers and has racked up more than 100 million views, making him one of the most recognisable faces in Indian comedy. His sharp observational style, mixed with regional relatability, has made him especially popular among the youth.
Aside from being a comedian, Gujral is also a content creator, YouTuber, and movie actor. His ability to balance humour with engaging storytelling has led to widespread acclaim both online and on stage.
Who’s coming next?
If one Indian comedy star isn't enough, another is just around the corner. Zakir Khan, one of India’s most acclaimed stand-up comedians, is also set to perform in Dubai later this year. After a sold-out appearance in 2023, Zakir will return to the Coca-Cola Arena in October 2025, as part of the Dubai Comedy Festival.
Khan, known for his poetic style and deeply personal anecdotes, first broke through the comedy scene by performing in Hindi – a bold choice in an industry then dominated by English acts. His emotionally rich storytelling and unique delivery helped him rise to global fame, with performances in London, New York, and Toronto.
With over 830 million views on YouTube, Zakir Khan's reach is far beyond the stage. His Amazon Prime specials – Tathastu, Haq Se Single, and Kaksha Gyaarvi – have all received critical acclaim, with viewer ratings above 8.0.
